textheresmart fortune did a side-by-side sell for comparison of a thanksgiving meal for eight utilizing all organic ingredients and turkey day feast using good old supermarket-sourced stuff. the verdict: the all-organic meal cost $295.36, hardly $170 more than the regular nourishment ($126.75). what drove the cost of the elementary go overboard through the roof? not surprisingly, it was the $99.80 twenty pound organically raised turkey, which rate a flagrant $76 more.
This begs the question, serious eaters: how organic are you going this Thanksgiving? Put another way, is your Turkey Day going to be more Alice Waters or Paula Deen? [via New York Times]
